NOTE
Constraints Make AI Useful
AI becomes more useful as constraints become clearer. Without boundaries, output quality degrades quickly.
This is not a limitation of the technology. It is a characteristic of how it operates. AI generates output relative to what it is given. When the context is wide open, the output reflects that. It is plausible, but untethered. When the context is narrow and specific, the output aligns to something real.
The engineers who get the most out of AI are not the ones writing the most elaborate prompts. They are the ones who have already done the thinking. They know what the system needs to do, where the boundaries are, and what correct looks like. AI fills in the implementation quickly because the constraints tell it what to fill in.
The constraint is not a restriction. It is the thing that makes the output useful.
